Today has been a VERY long and rough day. I'm 28 year old breast cancer survivor who lost the vision in my right eye due to a rare disease. My partner took me to the eye doctor today. Well, my family lives out in the country so we all tend to make appointments all on the same day so we aren't making numerous trips to the city in one week. So we took my mother, a 68 glaucoma and epilepsy patient , and my 96 year old Granddaddy. The eye doctor for just one of us is usually stressful. I get nervous, my mother fears her eyes are worse and my Granddaddy just hates doctors in general. Well, my mother and I are both on new medications where my Granddaddy has to get new glasses. I sat in amazement as I watched him throw a temper tantrum that out did all of my nieces and nephews! When he finally realized it was okay to get new glasses, the rest of us where completely embarrassed and were ready to head back to the country. By the time we were back in the woods, everyone had headaches except for Granddaddy. He was hyped up and ready to get into everything he possibly could. So I told my four year old and three year old nieces to play with their Great Granddaddy. So now I am sitting on the front porch watching the oldest member of my family having a tea party with the two youngest members of my family. Looking back I guess it hasn't been that bad. Although I wonder how he is going to react when he finds out we are getting his dentures re-fitted! LOL
