Wishing you a good outcome

Like many of you, I am a sandwich VHL patient. My mother had the disease, I have it, and my daughter also has VHL. After so many tumors, and so many surgeries, I wondered if in some way I was "allowing" these tumors to grow. What power did I have over the function of my body? I read and investigated everything I could find on this topic. Books such as THE SECRET, and THE ANTI-CANCER (some of the more popular you may be familiar with) demonstrate the importance of seeing, visualizing, and believing in a positive outcome.

VHL is not an easy disease. My heart aches when I read your stories and think of the challenges you are facing. And in many cases, it is not just you, but also includes other family members going through equally difficult struggles all at the same time. Please know that you are in my heart. In each one of your circumstances I am envisioning a good outcome for you and your loved ones. I am envisioning a cure for this disease.

My daughter, who is only 20, has a difficult surgery coming up with a tumor on her brainstem. Will you join me in seeing a positive outcome for her? I am thanking you in advance for your support.

I am also grateful for all of the good outcomes that have taken place in our lives - those scans that came back stable, those places that DON'T have a tumor, those surgeries or procedures that went well, or better than expected, all the functions we have preserved and appreciate now more than ever, the challenges we have overcome, and all of those loving people placed in our lives to help us through.
