VHL journey

0 Recommendations

I'm a medical doctor and was diagnosed with VHL in 1994 when I suffered and was then operated for a cerebellar tumor. "A doctor becoming a patient" i.e being on the other side of the table had great impact on my beliefs and attitude towards life. I can now better relate to the patients. Life has newer meanings now. With 2nd surgery for recurrence of this tumor in 2003 and still multiple lesions in the spine, I now thank God for each day passed uneventfully. Spending time with my child and family is of utmost importance to me. Would like to know more about VHL sufferers specially in India and would like to be of help in whatever way I can. Am interested in making friends with all of you there and know about the latest developments in this field.

Hi Rashi! I too have had a cerebral tumor, 5 years ago, that was wrapped around my brain stem three times. I also have a few lesions in my spine that we keep an eye on (I call them the twins). How are you doing with you recovery? I'd love to pick your brain (sorry, no pun intended) about what info you know seeing as how you are in the medical field. Have you had any other types of tumors related to VHL?
