Hello everyone.
As you may have read in the current newsletter, VHLFA has been working for a while to create a VHL Children's Handbook. This handbook, similar to the VHL Adult Handbook already in print, will serve as a guidebook to living with, coping with, and managing VHL. The unique thing about the Children's Hanbook is that it will be geared toward 4th grade reading level. Not only is the book written for children, it's also written about children. The book focuses on issues on the minds of kids with VHL; questions they may have about VHL and how it will affect their lives. The book aims to answer those questions in a format that kids can understand and relate to.
We are currently seeking volunteers to review pre-published copies of the handbook. Please help us make the handbook the best it can be, by volunteering to review it with your family. If you and your kids would like to read the book and give us feedback, please contact us at kidsbook@vhl.org.
Thank you!
Christina Doyle
