Hello and happy new year to you all!

I just thought that I would share with all of you who have kept my son in your prayers.

Briefly, my son completed a six week course of radiotherapy which was treating a tumour embedded in his spinal chord approx T6 on Dec 17th, we were told that it would take between 6 - 12 weeks before we would see any results. Before treatment he had become almost completely immobile requiring crutches to get around the house and a wheelchair whilst out, he had lost all sensation in his left foot and going part way up his leg and was beginning to lose some sensation in his right leg.

So we are just over 4 weeks down the road and he has commented that he is starting to feel a few sensations in his left foot, and that it is becoming just a little more responsive!!

Oops - posted to soon - again!

Just to finish, there is light - only a glimmer, but light none-the-less, there is still a long way to go, but not impossible, as from lack of mobility and steriods the muscle wastage in his legs is quite substantial, but with determination and hard work................who knows!?!

So we pray that the treatment is working, and will continue to do so, leaving me to say, yet again - Thank you!

Great news! Keep us updated!

That is wonderful, and that you have the faith, and hope. We will all continue to keep you and your family in our prayers. That alone works miracles.!!!

FABULOUS! We are glad to rejoice in this glimmer of hope -- hopefully it will encourage him to work at rehabilitating those muscles. Even if someone has to help him work them -- or perhaps he could work with a "prop" like a towel or an exercise band -- any movement will help to strengthen those muscles.

All the best,
Joyce

He is working hard with his physio, he has leg weights and an excercise band! Also excercises to try and increase the strength in his ankles thus helping with his balance.

We get the results to his MRI for the spine, (also the head as we are watching a tumour plus cyst) on the 6th Feb, when we hope to hear that they can 'see' that the tumour is shrinking - wouldn't that be wonderful??!!!!

Thank you for ALL your prayers! :o)
