Pheocromocytoma

I have whats called a "Pheo" in the medical world, or a tumour on my adrenal gland. I've started a blog to document my experience and provide a little insight for anyone going through a similar situation. Anways, just thought I'd share..and hope that I can help anyone who may be going through a similar situation understand the process of dealing with it or other similar conditions.
Cheers

Surgery

Just letting you know that you are in my prayers. Looks like your surgery is tomorrow, June 10th? You'll feel so much better afterwards.

Take it easy after the surgery and just remember it takes time to recover from both the surgery and the effects of a pheo ravaging your system.

Hey there. Thanks for the encouragement. I really hope I do feel better after this is all finished. Thanks again, I really appreciate the thoughts.
Cheers

Hey B,

Good luck with the surgery. You will definitely feel better, but not right away. It will take time for your body to recover from the surgery. Are they doing laproscopic or the other way? I've had them three times so far (hence the nick name), and I have been told I will most likely have them again. Fun, fun. :)
Is this your first tumor? The doctors wouldn't let me take my Pheo either, some sort of health hazard :) although, after I delivered one of my children, the doctors asked if I wanted to keep the Placenta. (grose) Appearently that is allowed because with some religions, you are suppose to ,... eat it! Really grose) There ya go, just tell the docs. you need it for religious purposes. :)

In all seriousness though, I pray that all goes well and that you recover quickly.
Good luck B.

Hey P x3
Thanks for your message.. Although I know other people have Pheo's it is in a way comforting to hear from people who can relate directly to what it is like to go through this. This is my first pheo..and I hope last..I feel like if I concentrate hard enough I can will them away!
Anyways, I really appreciate you taking the time to share..and i'm shocked you didn't opt for the placenta! I would totally keep that on the mantle. Thanks for reading the blog!
Good luck to you too
Cheers

My son just had 3 pheos removed from his adrenals along with both adrenal glands because the tumors were so big. He is 4 years old and is a changed person after the surgery. More energy, full of life, and just a happier boy. I hope your surgery went well and are on the road to recovery
