Lung Help

0 Recommendations

My mother was recently given a diagnosis of lung cancer for a 2.7 vascular lesion in her right lung. It is vascular and I have requested that she get tested for VHL. She has not been tested, but I have VHL as do my two children. She had a PET scan and throughout her body there is nothing else. Supposedly, this spot was seen in a scan in 2004! As with VHL, we all know that a lung lesion is quite uncommon but not unheard of. I am very fearful for her having a biopsy on this as it could lead to a massive bleed. Any advise out there?

Is there a reason she doesn't want to be VHL tested? Because where she lives, it is possible for a person more familiar with VHL to look at her scans. Is she willing to do this?

Absolutely, I am insistent on this for her. She is keen to be tested now, but the doctor she is dealing with is not too keen on her waiting for the results. I am very fearful that they will go in to do an invasive biopsy and the tumor will bleed terribly and then she is in worse trouble. With me being 12,000 miles away...what do I do? I am trying to arm her with as much info as possible, but right now she is stuck behind that "c" word.

Please if you have any input, go ahead and respond.....

Meanwhile, I am going to write you privately Rhonda.
