Denver Doctors

Hello, I have not yet found a doctor that will treat the cause and not the symptoms. I have been to may doctors. I have tested positive for a pheo on one test and others are pending. I am hoping that someone out there knows had to get in touch with a doctor in the Dever area that knows how to treat these. My symptoms have been occuring for 14 months now and are only seeming to get worse despite the medications that I am taking. I have profuse sweaty, rapid heart rate, flank pain, headaches, fatigue, weight gain and twiching while I sleep. I am a mother of 3 ages 11,7,and 4. I am also a nursing student, I got through the first year with this but would love to get it under control before I go back to school.

Dear Brandy,

For 3 years I dealt with the doctors in the town in which we lived. It was to no avail. Everyone of them had me in the hospital at different times and each time in the ICU for a few days. Yet, they all missed pheochromocytoma in each of my adrenal. Of course, pheos are alive until medicince gets them under control. They were feasting on the potassium in my body and causing all sorts of cardiac issues. Still, no one foundt the tumors. And here is the kicker-- 2 of my 3 kids had already had pheo's removed and no one thought to test me. CRAZYNESS....

I feel for you. I will tell you that I finally got on the phone and started calling internal med doctors. I would leave a message on the nurses voice mail telling my current state of health. Sharing that I needed a doctor who was willing to help me and to also quarterback my care. To send me out to specialitst when needed and to help me learn how to live a successful life enduring the ups and downs of Von Hippel-Lindau. I finally found an outstanding doctor who has caught the whole VHL vision and is really doing a wonderful job in my care.

I hope this might help. Best of Luck

Godspeed,
Deededell
