A prayer please!

Please would you say a prayer for my son who is facing brain surgery once again on the 7th Dec. to remove a tumour with a large cyst that is pushing up againest his brainstem and causing him many problems.

It is in times of need we turn to those around us - and in doing so we find strength to keep going.

With thanks and prayers

Dear Myway,

My prayers are with your son and all of your family. I will pray especially hard on Dec. 7. I'm also forwarding your mesage to my friends so they can add their prayers also.

God Bless.

Emily

Dear Emily,

Thank you for all your prayers - I am thundering heaven as much as possible at the moment!

I will let you know how surgery goes as soon as.

God Bless you and keep you well.

Jane

Dear Myway,

I will add your son to my daughter's circle. She is facing the same surgery 10 days later on the 17th. We will hold them close and safe and petition the great power that connects us all to have them walk away from the hospital feeling well and strong and ready to heal totally.

Anne

Dear Anne,

Thank you for your prayers.

I will keep your daughter, you and your family safe in our prayers too.

God Bless,

Jane

I will certainly keep you in my prayers. We must always find the strength to keep going:)

Bless you and your son,

Debby

Dear Jane,

I will keep you and your son in my thoughts and prayers as he faces this surgery. My son had the exact same sort of tumor and cyst removed in February - also was pressing on his brain stem. I understand the fear.

Knowing that we had the prayer and support of so many people helped.

Please do keep us posted on how it goes.
My son will be having his 3rd surgery in a couple of weeks to remove two spinal tumors...and again the support of this group of people and so many others is what keeps me going.

Amy

Dear Jane,

Will you please add me to the list of those you keep up-to-date on your son's progress. May it be swift and complete.

Thinking of you and your family.

Anne

I will pray for your son as he prepares for this surgery here in a about two days. As long as he has faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and beleives thatthat the Lord has it all under control and will see him through this, then he will be fine and back to his old self within no time! I will also, pray for you as well, myway. It will be tough, but hang in there, while he is in surgery. I ust had my third brain tumor removed from the brainstem, this past July 9th, 2007 at NIH. They are very good and know there work and the nurses on 7sw floor are excellent with taking care of people and the ICU nurses are excellent too as well.
Good luck and please let all of us know how he comes out.
Thanks,
Christy Taylor

Jane and Anne,

You and your kids will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please do keep us posted. We look forward to hearing good reports afterwards.

God Bless,

I will definately keep you son in my family's prayers. Strength in the Lord is what we turn to in times like these. I would want that same support for myself or my daughter when we have surgery. There's always a more peaceful experience when you know the Lord and Savior is looking in after you throughout you procedure and recovery. Also, don't forget to pray for those caregivers that are there performing the procedure or assisting with it. They may need a prayer to help them focus and perform and they're best ability that day also. So we won't leave them out when we pray for you.

I keep everyone in the VHL community in my thoughts and prayers. It is great to see this outpouring of support for one of our own.

This is a very international and ecumenical group. For my own son too we "pull out all the stops" -- friends have lit Catholic candles and put notes in the Western Wall in Israel --

Prayers of all denominations and flavors are always welcome!

Please let us know how it goes.

Love,
Joyce

Thank you, Joyce, for your comments. There are those of us on this list who are deeply religious, and find the comment "as long as you believe in......." offensive.

Thankfully, everyone in this country is entitled to their own beliefs without discrimination. Let's keep our prayers here inclusive to all!

I've been thinking of you guys today...and hoping to get good news soon!

Let us know how the surgery went and how your son is doing.

Beverly

I just read your post now and I know it's never too late to offer a prayer. Here in the midwest it's about 2pm and I pray you son's surgery went well and his recovery is as painless as it can be, as swift as we all want it to be and as complete as possible. Like many I too have had a large cyst removed and then a second large cyst drained as they pushed on my brainstem.

I'm sure your son had many if not all of the same symptoms I had with my brain stem cysts and I always pray that no one ever has to go through that experience. I'll add your son to the prayer book at our local YMCA and keep your family in my thoughts over the weekend.

Your son is lucky to have such a strong parent. God bless you and yours!

To you all -

I cannot thank you enough for all your thoughts and prayers, this is the first opportunity I have had to visit you all and am overwhelmed by the love and prayers that you have poured out for my son and for us as a family.

My son's surgery as you know was on Friday 7th, they decompressed the cyst and removed an 'abnormality' - all went well. Then he had an MRI on the Monday which showed that they hadn't removed the tumour that was feeding the cyst, so he had to face a second surgery on Tuesday to remove it, this was successful - we are now waiting to hear what the 'abnormality' they removed on Friday, is.

His recovery is going so well, dare I say it?!! Yesterday he was up and even did a little walking, today he intends to come with us to the hospital coffee shop - only a five minute walk for us - a marathon for him! If he continues to recover at this speed there is a possibility he will be able to come home at the beginning of next week - in time for Christmas!

He is due to have another scan today, please God that will show that all is well.

Thank you again with all my heart to each and every one of you,

With love and prayers,

Jane

Mrs. Jane,
My name is Christy Taylor, and I have VHL also. I have been dealing with it since I was 19years old and I'm now 33 years old, that makes it about 14 years of the battle of VHL and living with it. I am so glad to hear that your son's surgery went well and that is off of both of yous mind. God answers prayers of ours all the time, sometimes when we don't even realize it because we are all so busy with more to learn day in and day out with this disease we all have. Thank the Lord again for his mighty works and be sure to tell everyone,God is alsome, and he sure does answer peoples prayers.
Thanks,
Christy Taylor
P.S. please keep me or all of us posted please, me exspecially posted on his out come and recovery please.

Dear Jane,

Hallelujah! I'm so happy for your family that your son is on the healing side of this process and doing so well. Your news lifts my spirit and will Pam's when I see her later today. She has asked how he was doing. She had the first step in her procedure yesterday, and it went well. The big part is on Monday. We will hold your son's success as a big hope for her own. Thanks for keeping us informed. I'll do the same as soon as I can after it's over.

Take care, Mom,

Anne

Thank you - thank you for all your prayers................

My son came home yesterday - tired, but home, the best Christmas present ever!!

May I wish each of you a Christmas full of joy and happiness, and here's to a "healthy" 2008.

Jane

Dear Jane,

Hallelujah! Pam came through her surgery on Monday. The doctors at UCSF were able to remove a tumor on her cerebellum that has caused her problems for many many years. She is still in neuro ICU but feeling better every day. She may not be home for Christmas, but she joins your son as the result of the incredible training and dedication of the docs and the prayers and support of those known and unknown to us. Please celebrate your son's recovery and path toward wonderful health with the love and support of my family.

Anne

Mrs. Jane,
I'm so glad to hear that your son is home and on his way to a home recovery! Tell him, I said to keep his head up high and keep going, for he knows who his almighty healer is and that is not the Doctors or nurses, that is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Almighty healer!! Please keep me informed on how he is doing please. If i may ask, how old is your son and what is his name, just first, so I can put him on the list at Chruch as having a good Praise report.
THANKS,
Christy Taylor
