I know it's been a while since I've written. Just to update. Jamilia had chemo last Friday and has been having difficulty breathing and lots of heart palpitations since . This has been going on for quite some time- for months, especially after chemo and we've been trying to figure out why. Found out today that her Hemoglobin was really low causing her heart not to function as efficiently. They gave her a shot to boost her hemoglobin so hopefully she will feel a difference in the next few days. Her liver test results were extremely high which I believe could be because of the juice she was trying. The juice is good for everything including increasing iron which I missed.
Normal ferritan range should be in the 12-150 range and hers is in the 1600 range. It had decreased to about the 800 range when she met with the liver doctor but has since increased tremendously which I can only attribute to the juice. Our concern with having such high iron levels is irreparable damage to her liver. So far she has been blessed to not have any liver disease symptoms. Our goal is to get those numbers down.
As for the new chemotherapy ideas, we were told today that she has exhausted all the chemotherapy treatments available and that there is nothing left except experimental. So we are on the right track to be looking at other alternatives. Still awaiting Dr. Moon's test results. Last time I spoke with him- last week- is that he had one more gene test that he wanted to look at. I asked him how the tests he already did were looking and he said not good. That really doesn't tell me anything so I'm trying to stay positive until we receive the results.
Hope you all are doing well. Until next time, Be Blessed. Rasheeda
