whats the difference between pad and pvd ?
Nothing. My research said they were the same. It could be PVD is an older term still used by some doctors.
The ICD (international classification of diseases) uses the term "peripheral vascular disease" for diagnosis and treatment. This standard term is current and used throughout the world. Many people will use the more popularized term of "peripheral artery disease," but it's the same thing. Besides, the acronym PAD is more easy to pronounce than PVD.
Thank you for the clarification. I wonder if PAD has become popular because of some drug company's advertisements? Yes, it is easier to say tha PVD.
