My son-in-law Billy has been in the hospital 12 months as of 1-6-09. Billy was a healthy 28 year old male at the time he became ill. He has 2 daughters a 3 y.o. and a 5 y.o He has a b-cell inmmunodeficiency, not primary in nature. He has lost over 100 lbs this past year. He has sloughed off the entire mucosal lining of his intestines. He has chronic/acute abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting (He trys to eat without success). He has a malabsorbption issues. He has a severe case of protein enteropathy. He is now battling life threatening infections as freq. as every week and half. Billy has been in a total of 5 hospital, 3 of which were major University Hospitals. This has been an exhausting year to sit back and watch a loved one waste away to nothing, and the Dr.'s can't tell you why.. Billy's current physician Dr. Holter stated, after all the immunologist who have consulted, and they can't figure this out, it is a very rare disease he has. Some Dr's are call it Billy's disease.
I would appreciate it if everyone who reads this would please share Billy's story with just one person and hopefully that one person will pass it onto another one person... I am praying as the word spreads through "Pass it on" concept, it will eventually land on the doorstep of the right Physician who can help Billy. CNN.com internationa featured a story on Billy on 1-14-09, and the Fox affiliate TV station accross the nation have Billy's story one of the top featured this week. We continue to pray daily for a miracle and I feel confident it is just around the corner. My daughter Nikki is my inspiration through this past year, she has been a rock star. I have shared my inspiration in my bio... explaining the courage that Nikki and Billy have shown this past year, the strength of their love, and their faith, has been so amazing and actually I have increased my faith as a result of their faithfullness.
