I had this ailment a few years ago, and my doctor prescribed special shoes with great support - I still use them for walking. Also, he showed me exercises to do with my feet while in bed. But the thing that helped most with pain was infra-red light treatments. I discovered this at my physical therapist's office. I think it was called "infrared" and the warmth of it really helped a lot.

Been suffering from plantar fasciitis and heel spurs for years. I have worn custom made orthotics and Birkenstocks, both sort of helped. Birkenstocks broke down too quickly, and I was looking for something that looked dressier. I happened upon Ana-Tech sandals at a Foot Solutions store and when I wear them, my feet stop hurting. It has been a cure for me. It has been a great relief, however I have not found a close-toed shoe with them same result, not even the Ana-Tech clogs. Again, they help, but my feet still hurt. I want to spread the word about Ana-Techs, not many have heard of them, and I've had such great success with them, I want them to remain in business!!!
