What does it stand for ?
If by RSD, your are talking about Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, you are talking about the possibility of chronic, horrible, life long pain. There is some newer terminology, but a rose is a rose is.... RSD is not a rose, no matter what name it goes under. Most patients are sent to pain clinics for treatment. Most pain clinics will just keep you on pain medicine or perform nerve blocks.
I suffered from RSD after having an auto accident back in 1995. The shower felt like someone was shooting me with a raid firing BB gun. Clothes, hurt. I was once approached by a police officers for a pat down. I told him I would rather strip-RSD hurts that bad. But, I did cure it!! And I rarely even think about it, but I am rare.
I was fortunate, I recognized what was happening to me early. It was mostly localized to the inside of my left thigh, and ended just above the knee. I was taking percocet for pain at the time. I started by taking my pain medicine, waiting about 1/2 to an hour, then I would rub, kneed, and massage the area until I could not stand it anymore. I did this for only a few weeks and the RSD gradually went away. They call that desensitizing therapy now and it may be your only chance for a normal drug free life.
There may be some new treatments out there, but I have not heard about any. No drug, including narcotics would take the pain away. Some drugs just kept me knocked out or confused about the pain, but no drug I found would remove the pain. The desensitizing eventually helps the sensory nerves get back to normal, at least it did for me.
I wish you luck.
