LET ME START BY SAYING, I MIGHT BE SAYING
SOMETHING YOU DO NOT LIKE. BUT PLEASE KEEP YOUR COMMENTS NICE, AND CLEAN. (THANK YOU).

NOW,
I WAS LISTENING TO OBAMAS PLAN ON HEALTH REFORM, AND I HAVE BEEN THINKING IT OVER FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS. MY FRIENDS AND I, HAVE HAD A LOT OF DISCUSSIONS ON THE SUBJECT. I HAVE HEARD ALL SIDES.

BUT I HAVE TO SAY KUDOS TO OBAMA FOR TRYING, AND NOT BACKING DOWN!

I BELIEVE THAT WHAT HE HAD TO SAY MADE A LOT OF SENSE. I KNOW A LOT OF POOR PEOPLE WHO WERE TURNED AWAY FROM A HOSPITAL, BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT AFFORD TO FEED THEIR FAMILIES, CAR INSURANCE, BURIAL INSURANCE, AND MEDICAL INSURANCE.
I ALSO KNOW PEOPLE WHO WERE HEALTHY AND WORKED FOR YEARS FOR THE SAME COMPANY, PAID INTO THEIR INSURANCE FOR YEARS AND NEVER USED IT. AND THEN WHEN THEY NEEDED TO USE IT, THE INSURANCE COMPANIES WOULD TERMINATE THEIR CONTRACT FOR ONE STUPID REASON OR ANOTHER.

AND I KNOW DOCTORS WHO DO AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE, AND GIVE YOU ONE KIND OF MED OR ANOTHER, AND RUSH YOU OUT.

MY HUSBAND IS 72 YEARS, AND BECAUSE OF THE CONSTANT JOINT PAINS HE HAS, THEY PERSCRIBED HIM TYLENOL WITH CODEINE. BUT I TELL HIM NOT TO USE IT, UNLESS HE REALLY REALLY NEEDS IT! I DO NOT WANT HIM TO GET ADDICTED!
BUT WHEN I TRIED TO GET THE DOCTOR TO TELL HIM THE SAME THING, THE DOCTOR SAID HE WOULD RATHER HAVE HIM ADDICTED TO THE PILLS AND PAIN FREE, THAN TO HAVE HIM HURTING AT HIS AGE.

BUT THE DOCTORS PERSCRIBED PAIN PILLS FOR 2 OF MY COUSINS, AND THEY GOT ADDICTED. AND WHEN THE DOCTORS NOTICED THEY WERE ADDICTED TO THE PAIN PILLS, THEY CUT THEM OFF. ONE WENT TO GETTING THE DRUGS OUT ON THE STREETS, AND THE OTHER DIED FROM WITHDRAWLS!!

UNDER OBAMAS PLAN NOT ONLY WILL PEOPLE BE ABLE TO AFFORD HEALTH INSURANCE, BUT DOCTOR WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS ALSO. AND IF IT WORKS THE WAY HE WANTS IT TO, THE PHARMACUTICAL COMPANIES WONT BE ABLE TO KEEP JACKING UP PRICES ON MEDS, SO INSURANCE COMPANIES WON'T NEED TO JACK UP THEIR RATES,
WE CAN CHOOSE THE DOCTOR WE WANT, (AND WON'T BE FORCED TO USE AN HMO DOCTOR)!

I DO NOT KNOW IF IT WILL WORK, BUT I DO KNOW THAT OUR GOVERNMENT HAS TO TRY SOMETHING!
AND WE WILL NEVER KNOW IF IT WORKS, IF WE DON'T TRY! I AM SURE IT WILL HAVE SOME KINKS TO IRON OUT, BUT WE NEED TO SEE WHERE THOSE KINKS ARE.

SO IF YOU AGREE, BACK OUR PRESIDENT!!!!
AND IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, STATE YOUR OPINION, WITHOUT GOING INTO A RAGE.
ONCE A PERSON STARTS YELLING, EVERYONE STOPS LISTENING!

I believe Obama can do some wonderful things if congress will stop fighting him. I voted for him and I believe in him.

Hi Deedee

As I listened to Obama's speech on Healthcare, I believed he meant every word, I identified with his examples and genuinely felt agreement.... I have worked for the same company for 23 years and when my wife got stage4 colon cancer, the insurance company upped my rates, denied prescribed nausea meds and denied IPHC surgery (the surgery that saved her life) and it took three appeals to get them to cover the surgery. My employer pays 100% of my premiums and now my annual premium = 2/3 of my annual salary. Michelle only needs CT scans and blood work but the new deductable works out to where we just get the deductable paid and the new year begins.... I owe Wake Forest $$$ and this is going to snowball every year..... BUT after a couple hours to think about what the man was saying I hope he leave healthcare alone.

Some of the reasons why I feel this way:

1) The surgery that saved Michelle's life (she was given 16 mo almost 3 years ago) came about due to dedicated researchers and professionals but the process was underwritten because of the hope for profit.

2) Free market medical out performs nationalized healthcare. With all it's faults, the Free market system has produced the lions share of the medical advances in the world. The drug Martha Stewart was speculating on ended up playing a huge part in Michelle's successful fight.

3) As good as my employer is to me, they would not continue to pay 22k a year fore something that originally was $400 a mo... I would end up with the Public Option.

I believe that if Obama gets his way the world will enter the medical equivalent to the Dark Ages.

That is my main point, I would like to discuses tort reform and removing the failed government system of restricting free market in health insurance as more reasonable steps to improve healthcare.

Thank you.
