In response to your concern. I am not a doctor but I did work with a female PCP for 22 years. Your "lump" could be several different things. It may be a cyst type sore that most of the time goes away on it's own. It also could be a "herpes- type lesion" as a different condition. I would receomend seeing your doctor as soon as you can schedule. I don't mean to make it sound so alarming, I just understand what it is like to have a medical scare. Please find time for this so that you can know sooner for your own peice of mind. cherylB

Hi. My name is Krissie & I am not a physician, but I am an R.N. that has worked in women's healh for over 12 years. What you are describing sounds like a "Bartholin cyst". The vaginal opening has glands located on each side. These glands secrete fluid for lubrication and sometmes these glands get clogged or backed up and cause the cyst. Sometimes soaking in warm water will help the cyst to drain on its own; but sometimes it calls for the Gyn to surgically drain it. You do need to go the the Gyn and have them take a look. You do not want an infection to get into your bloodstream. As far as herpes, I doubt it......herpes shows up as lesions, open sores that are extremely painfull, it does not show up as a lump. I do not suggest that you attempt to try to "pop this like you would a pimple"............have the professionals take care of it. Try soaking in warm baths.....see what that does,if not, please go to your GYN. :) I wish you the best!

It's October 8th. I would hope that you took the advice of several writers who said go to your GYN.
Seeking medical advice for a problem that occurs during the most loving moment of your sexual life is important for two reasons: one, you solve the problem and get a professional opinion and 2, you took action as an adult and fixed it. Again, I hope you've taken the advice of others and sought medical attention.

hi, i have the same problem too. i went to gyns to ask about my problem but each one says different things... one said i need an operation due to its bartholin, while the other one said this is sth else -some kind of infection- that would be disappear with some medicines.. i use medicines but it doesn't work. now i do not now what to do, cuz i do not believe what all those doctors said.i do not think i need an operation cuz it's not a cyst, it appers only after sex.
i want to ask you can you solse this problem of yours and how.. i really need help.

First of all may I ask a personal question do you shave any pubic hairs? and if the answer is no I sugest you go to a gynecologist when you get that bump so the doctor can get a look and maybe a sample to rule out herpes. and if your partner been having intercourse with you with out a condom than he should be checked too.

hi, first of all i have to thank you for caring about my problem. i do shave, does it make a difference?
