postop pain

0 Recommendations

I recently had a major operation and would like to know what you guys take for the postoperative pain? I was given Vicodin but I feel it’s too strong for me. I’m thinking of talking to another doctor to ask for a second opinion of which pain reliever I can take that won’t feel too strong. I’ll ask my doctor or another doctor of whichever you’ll suggest. Thanks.

You can ask your doctor about tramadol/ultram. Gives enough pain relief without the strong dizzy feeling. Make sure that you ask your doctor about it first, though. There are some precautions that need to be checked with respect to your body system. Be safe! Have a great day!

I found extra strength tylenol works just as well.

Feel better!!!

I does depend on what kind of surgery you had, recovery time and the amount of pain you are in. I have had a trilevel fusion in my lower back and still on Loratab since one of the screws in my back has broken and now needs removed. Loratab has worked for me as it does not make me dizzy or tired but gets rid of the major pain that I am in. I would ask your doctor though since it depends on your system and your own circumstances. Some of the other pain killers do not take care of severe pain.

Did I just hear that Vicodin was taken off the market? And why is that? Check it out with your pharmacist.
