I am a 50 year old male, in excellent shape (workout 3+ / week). While living in Australia from '94 - 06 I was diagnosed with DVT / PE's in 1996. Since then I have been on warfarin (coumadin).

Since moving back to the U.S., I have been unable to find a health insurance company here in Texas that will take me because I take coumadin.

Does anyone out there know of an insurance company that I can apply to that will take me? (I am ok if I have to have a waiver period).

I read yesterday on the web that Vitamin E thins the blood about the same as coumadin.
If you are able to change from coumadin to Vitamin E, with the help of an alternative doctor, your problem is solved.

vitamin e and coumadin do not work the same way in the body stay on coumadin. As far as insurance check with state sponsered health insurance many states have no preexisting

Texas Risk Pool is what I have found. It is $473/mo with $7500 deductible. Trying to find something cheaper!

Hi Irma,

It's not about the purchasing of drugs. I pay $4.00 a prescription for it. I don't want solicitations! I am seeking solutions. READ THE POST before you answer it. You may be more successful!
