Hello, I have been battling the terrible disease of Multiple Sclerosis. I am currently not on any medications (used to take Vioxx)and was wondering if any meds on the market work ????
squanderbird1, hello .. i have been battleing MS for 11 years as well..
i have been on meds the whole time, i was on avonex for a few years , but have been on Copaxone for about 6 yrs now.. copaxone seems to work for me over avonex..
does it help???? well , the meds they claim only slows the progression of the disease and does nothning to make you "feel" better...
i also take Baclofen for spasems , and pain, which does help on occasion..
i take aleve alot , for pain..
i use tot ake a med for the fatigue , but dont any more , it didnt realy work, so i figured why take it ...
can i askyou why you have not taken any meds for your ms? if you have had it for 11 years , did they not advise you be on any type of meds to slow the progression?
Hello, Why in the heck aren't you on any medications? I've been carring MS since 2006, the doctors has put me on Avonex, a weekly shot to prevent spreading of the MS leions in the brain
I'm also on Celabrex for pain, and Lyrica for hands and feet pain, at time the numbness and burning and stinging get so bad the only thing that helps is a medication. Having MS has caused my curulation to slow up and become painful. I also use Topamx for headaches and the muscle spas I get in my upper leg while trying to do steps. Check with your doctor again,
unless your Ms isn't advanced enough to cause you much discomfort, I'd look closser into why no medications are being used. Take care, god bless, Jenks
hi squanderbird1. i have had ms for 11 years.. i have been Copaxone for about 7. i was on avonex.. i wouldnt reccomend avonex myself , due to the side effects, but it works for some.\
the meds for ms doesnt make you feel better, it slows the prgression.. i have a relapse about once a year or so..most are not too bad.. my last relapse in which i am still in, but nearing the end of it , was bad.
if you have MS, you should be on something to slow the progression...
i take baclofen for spasms and i live on Aleve for pain...
good luck to you.. God Bless.
