sorry about your dx - especially+ you being so young - most people dont get diagnosed for 25 to 30 years - i was dxed about 7 years ago - my 25 year old child was dxed in high school and i think she got it from me at birth - do you think you have had it since then? there is really no way to tell - maybe you got it form contaminated neeldls doing tats? anyway you can live a notmal life for many years to come - stay away from all alcohol and drugs - do you go to an infectious disease doctor? they are up on all the new treatment tests and they are free from the testing drug company - i have been thru one test and about to start a second but usually the virus comes back again - but if you have access to a study you might think about trying it -
overall, dont be consumed by your dx - you can and probably will go on to live a long life - check out web site : jennifer and friends - you can taklkin a chat room with others who have this
disease - good luck and remain on the bright side - Penny
thanks penny for ur support..
i will remain positive at all time..
but act.. i've been thinking about can i have a chance to have my own family..
since i might transmitte the disease...
Norelle - i probably got hep c during to 60's revolution for any of a number of reasons - i suppose you know it is ONLY transmitted by blood to blood - my son was born first int he mid seventies - my daughter early 80's - she has it he does not - there is supposed to be only a 3 percent chance of transmitting to offspring so you can have a family - i dont know if i gave it to my daughter -she used my razors and has some tats so it is possible that she did not get it from me - i just believe in my heart she did - she now has 2 of her own children but has not had them tested - there is no treatment anyway for children - no medical consensus among the experts as to subject them to treatment - no treatment is a guarantee anyway - try not to worry too much - just live your life as if you never found out - try to eat healthily, take milk thistle for liver health and stay away from alcohol - also if you need antibiotics for any reason find out from your doctor which ones are easiest to the liver since that is where they are meatbolized - Penny
Hello Norelle, I got your response about you having Hep.C. Thanks for writing and I hope that you are doing ok. I have had it for about 25 years or so and am still here so don't get to depressed as you are young and have an excellent chance to recover and even beat it alltogether.I'll pray that this will happen. In the meantime, learn all that you can about liver disorders and seek medical treatment as soon as possible to confirm that you do indeed have Hep. C. I will help you all that i can if you want to write. My E-Mail address is knoesges@hotmail.com. I must go right now,but please don't hesitate to ask me anything ok? Hope to hear from you soon.Ken
Dear Norelle - I don't think it will be easy to put Hep C in the back of your mind - I'm pretty stressed out about it at 51 - I can only imagine my reaction if I would've found out at 20! Firstly, do you have symptoms? How do you feel? You've gotten some good advice here - diet, milk thistle, etc. Also, I highly recommend the website Janis & Friends - it's all about Hep C and we folks who have it. You will find so much knowledge there - I'm still trying to decide whether to treat or not and am pretty much polling the crowd. Deep breaths, doll - and one step forward. Your life is not going to end any time soon - there's so much information out there about this disease - research, decide - and enjoy life! I hope to see you on Janis and Friends!
