Have you ever had heart surgery?

0 Recommendations

I'm starting this discussion because I feel that heart patients should share their stories and experiences with other heart patients. Two years ago I had a sextuple by-pass with eight stents placed in my heart. I know, how I feel now because I still feel the pain. My right leg and foot (from where they took the veins) is still swollen up and I have tried everything to get it back to size. The doctors ( and believe me I have the best and more then one) have told me I will just have to live with it. I still get chest pains (now and then) and all doctors have told me there is nothing more they can do unless I feel I have to be hospitalized. Or will it be too late? Nitro Quick helps my heart pain. I feel once they touch your heart you never feel the same in so many ways. DO YOU FEEL THE SAME?
I know ther are plenty of medicines out there to relieve pain because my medicine cabinet looks like a drug store. I enjoy hearing heart stories from other heart patients and sometimes learn from them. I want to hear yours. I know there are tons of books out there, but believe me when you know you are hearing a real story from a person who has experienced heart surgery it means so much more. Let's hear your story and make this the biggest discussion group that US News has ever seen. We can all learn from other's experiences. Maybe, just maybe it will help us understand about life after heart surgery and make a difference in one's life.'

Exercise Surgery Pain

Yes, I too had open heart surgery and the leg healing was by far the worst part. I later found out that the surgery was unnecessary as well as the stints. Later I was very fortunate to get to know an old Chinese doctor in Beijing that taught me how to correct cardiovascular disease, lower my BP and get off all drugs. Anyone can do this by just providing the things your body needs to heal itself.
Drugs will not heal the body, only the body can heal itself if given the chance.

I had a triple heart bypass with 3 stents prior that closed up, 5 years ago. Along with stents in my legs. My legs where they took the arteries are ok. I hear all these stories of how every one else feels so much better after their surgery, I don't. I am to live with a lesser quality of life and I have to learn how to do this. Bad air, getting disappointed, walking to fast...many little things make my heart cramp and leave me out of breath. Sleep is the only thing that makes my heart stop hurting, a short nap. I am sorry to hear you still have trouble. I too want answers, I want to understand, I want a cure, I want my old life back

I just wanted you to know I read your story. Sleep does help I found out. I have not found a person yet that really feels great without some kind of problem after surgery. If you get time visit this web site www.myheartinformation.com You can list your story for free and read others. It is for people like us who what to know the real truth.

I too had triple by-pass and 2 subsequent stints and still kept getting clogged arteries and many side effects with their drugs. When I read the emergency room doctors report a few years later (which I was not shown), it stated "medication only, no surgery necessary". At that time lost all faith in doctors, drugs and surgery. I consulted old Chinese Dr.Zhu I met in Beijing, years before, who said that when a heart patient comes to the emergency room, they stabilize them first, and then do EECP (Enhanced Electrical Counter Pulsation), which grows new collateral arteries across the blockages. By pass surgery is seldom done. He said drugs would not heal the body; only the body can heal itself if given the opportunity with natural remedies.
He started me on a regimen of diet, exercise and supplements. Within 4 months I was off all drugs, had normal BP and my EF went from 35% to 70% indicating much more blood to the heart and lower legs. I now feel stronger at 80 than 15 years ago and my wife of 74 is off drugs too. We both feel great and can now enjoy traveling.
I have kept a log of all the things Dr.Zhu and my own research have done to achieve this return to health. If anyone wants a copy, just email me with the promise that you will pass it on to others who need to get their life back.
It’s so nice to get emails that start out “Thank you, thank you, thank you”. This gives me a wonderful feeling.
