eye mole

0 Recommendations

Anyone else out there have a mole on their eye? Just wondering how common a thing it is. I have one on my right eye. The doctors told me when I was in the third grade that if it changed in size or color, I would need to have it removed. So of course, I never went back to the eye doctor : ) . I'm thinking I probably should have and I'm making an eye apt. asap. The mole did change in color; it got lighter. I'm not sure if the size changed or not. Sometimes my eye hurts but it's not major or anything and to be honest I've got so used to it, I barely notice anymore. I'm still a little scared they'll have to take my eyeball out or something! lol But I've found it's better to face something head on and find out the facts and possibly fix any problems before they become big ones. Wish me luck ; )

God Bless,

Surgery Valium

Hi - just wanted to let you know that I have had a mole in my eye removed. My doctor said that it was purely cosmetic so it was my choice to leave it be or have it removed. This was about 10 years ago, and I don't know if the procedure has changed, but basically they gave me some valium, numbed the eye with drops and cut it out with an exacto knife (OK, a scalpel, but I really didn't see the difference at the time). I was quite surprised because I thought that they would use lasers or something, but in the end it was no big deal. I had to wear a patch for a couple of days and it looked pretty nasty, but it did heal fast. Good luck to you, whatever you decide to do!

thanks! good to know i'm not alone and that you've lived ten years since! lol were you awake during the surgery?

omg are you serious? the doc said the exact same thing to be when i was about 7 nd im 16 now nd i successfully got it cut out in january of this yr and the redness has slowly faded nd almost non existant
it didnt really bother me the mole but it did get bigger over 9 years nd i thought it was time
within 5 days it was feeling prety good, just so itchy

cheers

ps im from australia

I have a mole on my eyeball which seems to have grown alarmingly recently I am really panicked about it, i thought it hadnt grown really but looking back thru photos it seems barely noticeable for years and now I cant look at myself without noticing it. I am so worried about having it cut out and cant seem to find much info about it. I had it seen by someone a month ago but hadnt noticed it had grown then and said that but now I am so noticing it and a couple of people have actualyl asked me what that is in my eye lately!

Wish i could post a photo but there is actually two smaller ones next to it. Eye doc said could possibly stay red forever as one of the complications which is so scary but its kinda red around them anyway now! Does anyone have any other stories to relate if they have had surgery please??

Hi there,
I've got a mole in my left eyes n it has been wit me since i was aged 4 due to some undue circumstances however not inheritance.
Whereabout like do u think i should seek an advice to get rid of my mole?
Is it cosmetic surgery doctor or optometrist should i go for?
and how much is it cost like?

i would be really pleased if i can get your reply asap as i am always having no confidence in having conversation meanwhile having eye contact with people around me. i reckon' it is much like a burden to me rather than a "special" kind of beauty which my mum always try to console me.

very much thanks.

Regards,
mainezie
