Colorectal Cancer Dendritic cell Vaccine clinical research study

0 Recommendations

Is any one considering or has enrolled in colorectal vaccine trial program? I'm a 4 year colorectal cancer patient. I had my rectum removed and re-configured with a j-pouch. I also had small mets removed from my lung and liver. I've been cancer free for 14 months. I'm currently enrolled in a vaccine trial program at Georgetown Univ Hospital that may help me continue to be cancer free. This vaccine stimulates my immune system to keep cancer from coming back - hopefully!! And it has zero side effects!! Has anyone considered or gone through such a trial program?

Hi Zivo,

What is the vaccine you are taking. How did they find your cancer? Was it through a routione scope and what stage were you at?

Clinical trial NCT00103142 go the the web page of Clinicaltrials.gov and look for the "Vaccine therapy in treating patients with liver or lung metastases from colorectal cancer" for the details. There are two ARMS that you would get picked for. Both have zero to very minor side effects. Remember it's a trial with some hope. My cancer was rectal found in 2005 with mets in my lung (2006) and liver (2007) but I've been clean for about 14 months so I decided to try this trial.
