Yes, I had one 3 years ago. I had a subclavian steal. My scar is not on my neck and it only bothers me as a scar does by the nerves. This was not hard to recover from. I could not lift or use my arm a week for the stitches to heal. I don't remember any pain after. I stayed in the hospital 2 days.

Hey Kristie,This is Hazel. When I answered you I didn't know that you had a subclavian bypass. Its not on my neck. Its underneath my coller bone. I am so happy to hear from some one that has had it done. Can you tell me how long it took to heal. And when you felt normal again. Thank you for writing back. Did you get any information on the bypass? Tell me everything okay. One of my sons is a nurse,but he is getting married next month, and the other one works at the hospital as an aide, like a CNA. Did you look up any information on the bypass? and if so where, and How did your subclavian steal happen. That is what I have also. Write me okay. I hope you don't mind. Its real nice talking to someone about the after symptons that I have. The doctor said just do normal stuff, but when I do that I guess I do to much. Again thank you! Hazel
