Allergies for the first time?

0 Recommendations

I have never been allergic to pollen before, but this year seems different. My eyes are itchy, and my nose is runny. On a hunch, I took Claritin, and it helped! Does this mean I might be allergic? Is it possible to become allergic after a whole life with no allergies?

This is definitely possible. I developed seasonal allergies when I turned 35, after being entirely allergy free my whole life. I have friends who have developed allergies over time to shellfish/iodine and other foods as well.

It seems to me that a lot of people are getting a lot more allergies these days - both as children and as adults.....

They say this is the worst pollen ever for the DC area. My eyes have been itching and my nose running I am just hoping it will go away soon! It's annoying!

We are hearing from more people these days that suffer from some sort of MCS. Many don't have a clue what is setting off their allergies or asthma. The pollen problem here in South Florida has not been too bad lately.

I have found one of the reasons allergies are developed in later years is that our immune systems are constanly being taxed by exposure to toxins every where in our environment and diet. As we age, we just can not keep up. I have found the way to combat these conditions is to boost the immune system on a cellular level and to keep a healthy digestive track. The typical diet in this country is does not promote a healthy digestive trackand immune system, but there are simple ways to help.
