My 7 year old son was diagnosed a month ago with childhood cerebral adrenoleukodystrophy. In the past 2 months his hearing and vision have deteriorated rapidly. He is becoming very hyperactive and uncontrollable. The doctors have told us that it is too late for any treatment to help Gavin. I am so overwhelmed. All of my family members are healthy. This is such a shock. I have no idea how to deal with this and what to expect. If anyone can give me any advice it would be greatly appreciated. I don't know what to tell my son, he is almost blind and keeps asking what is wrong with him. I don't know how to prepare for the progression of this horrible disease.
