Marshall is my 6 yr old nephew. He was diagnosed with X-linked Adrenaleukodystrophy after an MRI for headaches. We were all devastated at the news and my sister and I started researching the internet. I was shocked at what we were finding out about this disease. When the final blood test came back confirming thats what it was the dr told my sister he had 3 to 5 years to live. We were told there was no cure and that treatment didnt help much. But what an awsome God we have. Because Marshall hasnt showed any signs or symptoms of the disease yet he is going to have a bone marrow transplant. They have tested his 10 yr old sister to see if she is a match and if she carries the gene that causes the disease. If they cant use her they are going to use cord blood. Everything has happened so fast but that seems to be the key is catching it before symptoms start. The Drs at Duke University are giving him a 98% chance of stopping the disease right where it is. Thank you God.
