N-acetyl-L-Cysteine for ALD

0 Recommendations

Does anyone have any experience with their son taking NAC (N-acetyl-L-Cysteine)? I know that the BMT patients in Minnesota are on this drug to increase the success rate of their transplant. Has anyone out there tried it without a bone marrow transplant? How did you administer it and how much was taken?

My nephew took it. I am not sure if it helped. You can buy it at most drug stores and I think he just took the suggested amount on the container. I think it is worth a try. My nephew was also on Lovastatin he couldn't have a bmt either so we tried everything. I think red rice yeast works as a statin.
