I'm wondering if anyone has seen a change in mental status when the hydrocortisone level is a little low? My son Connor seems to have very off/slow days and sometimes if I double his dose it improves. The endocrinologist says this doesn't usually happen with Addison's, but thinks maybe it's related to the ALD. Any thoughts?

Prednisone Stress

When my son was younger, if he didn't take his cortisone he would get tired, nauseated and just in general not feel. His endocrinologist told us just to double the dose for a couple of times and he would feel better. He is now 25 and still does that with prednisone. He feels much better then.

Addison's does so much...I know before my son was diagnosed and put on his meds he would get so moody and then end up vomiting and wind up in the hospital. Even now on meds if he is stressed and does not increase meds he is sluggish and moody-he produces no adrenalin to deal with things so it makes sense-sometimes our adrenalin increases to help us deal with sick stress or life stress. They have to take extra meds
