Hello, My name is Lisa and I received a call from my doctor after some blood work and he told me that I need to be seen by a endocrinologist asap that my TSH was>0.100 way to high, he asked me what kind of symptoms I have been having, well all my symptoms point to a hypoactive thyroid vs a hyperactive. I have steadily been gaining weight since 1996 after the birth of my son. I have boughts of depression, tiredness, sleepy, no energy, my hair is starting fall out and turn gray, bright light hurts my eyes, I feel hot as long as I am up and moving around and very cold when sitting around at home doing nothing, my fingernails are brittle, I cry at the least little thing. I have just graduated from nursing school and was very stressed out for the longest time and now I am very concerned about it possibly being Graves Disease. I go for my appointment on Nov 10, 09 and hopefully I will get a better grip on what is going on. I have read so much about each that I am confused and don't know what to think. Anyone with ideas please post or email me. Thanks and best wishes to all.
