I am 21 yrs old not gonna say my weight but about 10 years ago I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and was put on Synthroid and doing good. Then I wasn't able to afford my medicine so I went off of it for 2 years and when I got more money I went to my new doctor and I told them about having it and they did blood work and all that and they called me the next day and said my thyroid was fine and I don't need medicine. I have been extremely tired, frequently having my period, can't loose weight, trouble concentrating. Can you have a thyroid problem and then not have it all of a sudden?? Help please!!

From my experience, you need to ask them to do a complete thyroid blood workup. Make sure you take in a list of your symptoms besides weight. They may have done only TSH, which is usually preliminary. If no results and you still have problems, suggest seeing an endochrinologist. Good luck!
