Hi Everyone:
We are celebrating Native American Heritage Month at the Children's Inn! Over the next couple of weeks, I'll be posting "Fun Facts" about Native American/Eskimo Heritage.
Here's this week's Fun Fact:
In 1990, President George H.W. Bush approved a joint resolution designating November as the National American Indian/Eskimo Heritage Month.
Did you know that the first American Indian Day ever celebrated occurred in May 1916 in the State of New York?
Did you know that the 31st Vice President of the United States was a Native American. Charles Curtis, part Kansa, was admitted to the bar in 1881 and he championed the rights of Native Americans to govern themselves with the Curtis Act in 1898.
Please check back next week for more "Fun Facts" about our heritage.
