shortness of breath

0 Recommendations

Hi I had my ICD implanted in December of 2008, since then I have had major shortness of breath, and a lot of anxiety, I understand the anxiety is normal, but has anyone else experenced the shortness of breath. My left arm is still very sore and I do not have full range of motion. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes Yes Yes.

After my first attack, back before I had my AICD (I just had multiple Ablations), I was dealing with major shortness of breath issues. Nobody knew why, nbody did anything to help. I felt as if nobody believed me, or something. I would be in the shower and nearly pass out just from normal washing activity, crazy.

It has happened a couple times, and all I can tell you is it did go away for me. I just lived with it, thinking maybe it never would be the same as before my VT/VF but eventually I returned to normal.
It's kind of of weird, I just one day realize that I am no longer dealing with the shortness of breath. I can't explain it any better than that, but there is hope for you. Hang in there!!

This forum is really a blessing to me, being able to hear that others are dealing with the same issues that nobody else seems to understand, means so much. Not that I' happy that anyone else is going through these issues, of course, but you understand...

Hi there,
Yes I still have shortness of breath. It is not as bad
as it used to be. I have an ICD. When it was first
implanted I was really short of breath. Then I had
biventricular pacing done and it has really helped.
As for your arm I don't think you ever get full use
of it. I can do most things I used to do but not every-
thing. Talk to your cardiologist and find out why.
I hope this helps you.
bingo

I still have some shortness of breath. I had ICD inplant one year ago. The shortness of breath took time but the ICD has helped, it was about six months until I felt so much better. As for the arm I have to do a lot of exercising of the left arm that really took a long time over six months before I nearly have all range of motion. I hope this helps it sure is wonderful everything that can be done now. Good luck.
