Nearby AEDs going unused during an SCA event

0 Recommendations

I would be interested in hearing stories or reading articles about incidents where a nearby AED went unused because neither the first responder, nor the 911 dispatcher knew of a nearby AED.

The missing link in our ability to respond to SCA in the public is that, despite AEDs being available, most frequently 911 dispatchers don't have the information of their location.

We encourage people with AEDs to register their devices with www.NationalAEDRegistry.com - a free service. This information will, in the future, allow subscribing communities to be able to tell callers of the location of a nearby AED.

We also welcome your support, as an SCA/AED advocate, to help us introduce AED Link (www.aedlink.com) into your communities.
