Microvolt t-wave alternans, is an important test in Prevention of Sudden Cardiac Death. This test can predict pending fatal arrythmia. It's limitation is in the fact that it won't be used unless the patient is aware of having some cardiac problems(Beside the fact that it is a costly test.).Large number of people, mainly athelets, are not aware that they have any cardiac problem whatsoever. It is assumed that the majority
of S.C.D. cases are none-witnessed,and remains unknown. There must be a way to adress this issue.
Costly?
Whats the price of getting an implanted ICD when in fact, more than 1/3 of the ICDs going into unknowing patients are unnecessary? Now thats costly.

I do not know the price of the test:Microvolt T-wave Alternans.
However,I read recently that C.M.S./Medicare and Medicaid
are going to pay for it on limited specific cases.
This news tells me that A)It is not inexpensive B) It is limited to a certain population.
I am targeting a test that will be extremely cheap(Pricewise),
simple and available to all.
I think 48 hour Holters are the way to go. Expensive? Yes, but I not as expensive as death! I had several arrhythmias on mine, including V-tach and Torsades de pointes! I still died, but at least we kinda saw it coming!
