As many of you say, my new birthday is June 17, 2009, the day I got my brand spanking new, St Jude Medical, Current RVVF ICD.
The implantation, I was told by my Dr, was picture perfect! I was graced with my blood pressure rising just before the procedure and the test the next day to a level where I could tolerate the anesthesia. Ironically, each night, my bp dropped considerably due to that anesthesia. Once a leak was ruled out with an echo, it was decided to reduce my lisinipril in half for a few days until I got my strength back.
After 2 extra nights in the hospital, totally unfun, I finally got out and started to heal. The pain gets better every day, and honestly, I have so many other challenges on my plate, like picking the right Sarc Dr and treatment for me, that I never think about the device. This is great, as I do tend to obsess. I trust that my dr knows what he's doing, the device is smarter than me, and it will do what it needs to, when it needs to. I know what I can control and what I can't.
I invite anyone who has Sarcoidosis to be in touch as I look for treatment. I have an appointment at Mt. Sinai for Sept 30, the soonest available, but I'm also considering the Marshall Protocol.
Many thanks to this site and your support. I wish you all the blessings I have received so far.
Elizabeth
