Help me! If you know how to reprogram pace maker

0 Recommendations

Hello everyone!
I had a great check-up Friday. ICD incision looks great. My ecg still shows qt of 470, this seems to be my magic number. I would love to see it lower. I am doing everything that I know to do.

He says to start doing just about anything that I am feeling up to, he doesn't know that I pretty much was.

The ICD pacemaker part is having to work at pacing my heart at 37% of the time. It is set at the low point 60 and I'm not sure about the high point because my problem lately has been having a very low pulse even in the 30's. He thinks if it is reprogrammed lower (like 50 instead of 60,) my heart will work more on its on.

Does anyone have experience with this? How do they reprogram? Can they do it with computers or do they have to cut back into the icd to reset?

I am just curious, anyone that has to have this done, I would appreciate some information. Thank you all for reading and responding even when you don't know the answers!

Hey Vicki,

No, they do not have go back in surgically. They've reset mine twice, and they do it while they are interrogating it. Glad you're feeling so much better!

It is a simple matter to reprogram a pacemaker. It will be done, if necessary, at the time of regular checks on pacemaker. Last time mine was checked, they did a small amount of adjustment. It will be checked periodically and adjusted if need be. So glad you are better!
