Friend Requests

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone else is having trouble with the "friend request" application. I've had two new friend requests in the past few weeks and when I try to accept them, I can't. I am worried people think I'm ignoring them!

I have had the same problem Mary. Not just you! :-)

I hope it is something they can fix!

Same here. Funny thing though, when I searched for the member names of the people who requested me to be their friend, they weren't listed as members. I think we need to contact tech support, but I'm not sure how.
Any suggestions?

I actually contacted someone the first time it happened. The reply suggested that the person who requested me was no longer a member, or something like that. I decided not to worry about it, until it happened again. I am not sure exactly how I contacted them the first time, but I can try to figure it out.
I'm glad to know it's not just me!

Hi Mary, How have you been? I've had this problem to. I gave up but I glad to here I was not the only one. Hope everyone has a great holiday!!! Leenie

Hi Leenie!
I've been pretty good. Tomorrow is the anniversary of my 2nd SCA and I feel a little stressed about it. Otherwise, I feel good. :-)
Happy Holidays to you (and EVERYONE) too!!

I have had the same problem.

That is what happens to me too. I just take it if I don't get an answer that particualr person does not want to be my friend.

I am so sick with a cold/flu or whatever = and I feel rotten. My ribs hurt because of all the coughing trying to bring up phelgm. Does anyone know if heart patients can use "Mucinex". Right now I'm doing just the nasal irrigation, little cough syrup, and some tylenol for the head aches. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I hope I will be well enough to go out to my sons's house on Xmas eve.

Hiya Mary,

I have had the same problem a couple of times. I just chalked it up to me being.....well brain damaged! hehehe. We've got to be able to laugh, do we not? Congrats on your anniversary, no need to be nervous. You are still with us! January 7 will be my 5th anniversay.

Thank you, Meri. I got good news, though.
I am a teacher and today we got a snow day! Our district RARELY closes!
I sent a note out to technical support about the friend problem. The original response was a "pat" answer that implied there isn't a problem. I wrote back to let them know many people are having the problem. I hope they can fix it!!

I have had the same problem.

I am feeling frustrated. Obviously quite a few people are having the same problem. For some reason, technical support (if I have the right person) doesn't believe me! This it the response I got yesterday...

"I wanted to let you know we have confirmed that the problem with your
friend request was because of a member that is no longer with us. You
should not have this problem with friend requests in the future as
long as the member is active. If you do, please forward us the email
that is missing the link so that we can investigate further.
Thank you,
Heather, TeamInspire"

Maybe if other people contacted them also? Thanks.
Mary

Hello Mary,

It is not that member support doesn't believe you. I think the issue was that there we recently had a member who was using the site to promote a book and website. He a friend request to every member of the group and then was removed from site. If you had not replied to it yet, when you went to do so you would have gotten an error. The member then changed his name, sent more requests and was once again removed. So, it would have been 2 requests from two different names, both of which would give you an error.

If this happens again, please forward the friend request notification email to team@inspire.com and we can investigate.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
Beth, TeamInspire

Thank you, Beth. That information is very helpful. I was concerned because the first two times I wrote, the response was worded exactly the same. I wrongly came to the conclusion that the situation hadn't been looked into very carefully. (I apologize!) I had pretty much decided it wasn't worth it to friend request someone if it wasn't working properly. I was worried others would feel the same way, and this site is so important for people to be able connect.
Thank you (all of "technical support") for making sure things are the way they should be.
:-)
