Aches and pain

0 Recommendations

Hi everyone,
It has been awhile. I've been very busy with school starting back! I am so exhausted by the time I get home, I can do nothing but crash.

I have a question that has been bothering me. It started before school, so I know it is not related.

I am having severe aches and pains, especially my legs. It is like having the flu without all the other symptoms. Anyone ever have this, it is really getting unbearable, especially in the afternoons. Nothing seems to help; hot baths, tylenol, putting them on pillows while lying down.

Any ideas appreciated. I go to the ICD dr. on the 25th. He probably won't help in this area much. It is two months before Cardio. Dr. I hate to call about something that may be so trivial, but at this point, I don't know anymore.

Thanks for any help,
Vicki

Are you taking any medications that can cause muscle and joint pain; ie. cholesterol lowering, etc? I would certainly call your primary doctor. To have that much pain would lead me to believe it is something else not related to the ICD. Good luck.

Maridee,
Thanks for the comment. I take metoprolol and nadalol (sp). Yeah, I had been thinking about that too. I should call, but don't want to. I'm tired of doctors. Could it be circulation? I even took a half day off school today.

I am certainly not a doctor nor do I pretend to be one but I always have an interest in the medical side of life. I started also thinking about your potassium levels maybe causing cramping and aching in your legs. And yes I would think if you had a circulation problem that might explain this. I know you are sick and tired of doctors but I really think this is one more doctor appointment you should make. Then you don't have to wonder anymore. I do believe that you need to give yourself credit for all that you have accomplished in the short amount of time you have had. Nevertheless I really think it should be discussed with your doctor on the 25th. Don't assume it is nothing because it is something. Best of luck.

Thanks Maridee,
I had not thought of the potassium possibility. When my SCA happened my potassium levels were terribly low and they told me that was one of the triggers of SCA in lqt patients. I had to take huge vials of the nasty stuff several times a day.
I think I will make that appointment and go have a glass of orange juice. I have a bad nutritious diet. I really worked on it after getting out of the hospital, but have been awful about it again. I could live on tea and Grapico. I have to make myself eat, although it hasn' t helped my weight at all. This is the way I have always been. The one thing that I gave up for good was my Mt. Dew habit. I lived on it alone some days when my children were growing up. I have always cooked all the meals in my family, but never was hungry after. Boy, I miss Mt. Dew.
Thanks for the idea and comment,
Vicki
