My brain had bled twice internally. So I do consider this a stroke. I was out of it for a month the first time. And the second time it had bled I was out of it for a week. So can you give me some more instances of whom this has happened too?

Troy, what you MAY have had is called a hemorrhagic stroke. Strokes can be caused by blood clots or by a bleed in an artery.
You REALLY need to have this diagnosed by a doctor/neurologist. I've atached part of a description from Medline. If you have had a stroke it is important to get it diagnosed by a doctor who can help figure out what caused the problem and what risk factors you need to address, in order to not have this happen again. Also, the doctor needs to see if you have any problems, caused by the stroke, that may call for rehabilitation therapies.
PLEASE see a doctor about your concerns!!
From Medline - search [hemorrhagic stroke] Retreived 3/9/09
"Hemorrhagic stroke occurs when a blood vessel bursts inside the brain. The brain is very sensitive to bleeding and damage can occur very rapidly, either because of the presence of the blood itself, or because the fluid increases pressure on the brain and harms it by pressing it against the skull.
Bleeding irritates the brain tissue, causing swelling. The surrounding tissues of the brain resist the expansion of the bleeding, which is finally contained by forming a mass (hematoma). Both swelling and hematoma will compress and displace normal brain tissue.
Most often, hemorrhagic stroke is associated with high blood pressure, which stresses the artery walls until they break.
Another cause of hemorrhagic stroke is an aneurysm. This is a weak spot in an artery wall, which balloons out because of the pressure of the blood circulating inside the affected artery. Eventually, it can burst and cause serious harm. The larger the aneurysm is, the more likely it is to burst. It is unclear why people develop aneurysms, but genes may play a role, since aneurysms run in families."
Troy,
I had a major stroke caused by an AVM 6 1/2 yrs. ago. I was completely paralyzed on my left side. I have had a good recovery and am hoping to get a full time teaching job now.
My AVM was taken care of via angiogram where they injected some kind of glue into the AVM which completely closed it off making sure this can't happen again.
Your AVM may be different or in an area where they can't do this. I would definitely ask the Dr.
Any questions please ask!!
Barb
Yes mine is in the middle of my brain so glue is not an option for me. I have been zapped like three times but they still haven't hit it. I still live with a ping pong ball within my head. And so on and so forth........ Any ways just glad to be here.....
Yes I have been looked at several times and been through three treatments. Three zapps bye radiation and no cure. I still have the ping pong or golf ball in the middle of my brain........
I had a brain brain bleed 50 years ago, and here I am. It (the AVM) was removed by a craniotomy and was done by a neurosurgeon who apparently knew his job, even in a little kid. I am so happy to be alive. You had strokes. An AVM causes the bleed, the bleed in a braqin is a brain attack, what used to be called a stroke. It's the same as a heart attack, but in the brain.

Dear Barb:
I had my avm removed 2years ago after a major bleed by craniotomy (this was done as a lifesaving procedure). I was completely paralyzed on my left side, too. I am very interested to hear about your recovery, particularly about years 2-6.5. Please check out my story online by going to yahoo and searching for sarah abrusley.
