I went to the new Pulmonary doctor today. Let me tell you that I have never been threw anything like that before in my entire life. I have never been to a doctor that has asked as many questions as I was asked today. He even asked if I remembered what they results of the very first x-ray I have ever had. I told him that when I was 11, I had to go to the children’s hospital in Lansing to have the muscles behind my right eye straightened out. At that time they took a chest x-ray. I told him that I was right there with my mom ever time someone came to talk with her about any of the tests that I had to take. They said that my chest was clear so they didn’t have to worry about anything. He asked if I knew of anyone in my family at all that might have had Sarcoidosis or some other sort of auto immune disease. I told him that the only things that I can think of that anyone was sick with was diabetes’s, high blood pressure, asthma, hyperthyroidism, blood clotting trouble and arthritis. Nothing at all like Sarcoidosis. Seeing as how the joints in my hands and ankles hurt he thinks I might have either or both Lupus or R.A. He also said something about wanting to research the test results in more detail as he wants to make sure I don’t have some sort of fungus growing in my lungs. Now if I had a fungus growing in my lungs wouldn’t they have found that when they did the open lung biopsy threw my ribs in my left side? He did give me a higher dosage of my Advair from 115/21 to 500/50. He also gave me an inhaler called Pro air to use every 4-6 hours as needed for fast relief. I was also given three plastic containers that I was to cough in hoping to get the phlegm that might come from my lungs. Well, so far there isn’t anything at all that is coming up. I also told how I have had a problem with not being able to go out in the sun because I would end up looking like Linda Blair in the Exorcist at her worst moment, he said that it might be from the Sarcoidosis. He also said that I might not even have asthma, that it could very well be caused from the Sarcoid. Before I was able to leave his office I had to let them take my blood. They are testing for Lupus and some other things. I surely can’t understand all of that mumbo jumbo that they have on those order sheets.
That is part of what I found out when I went to the new Pulmonary doctor on Monday. I hope and pray that this man who specializes in Sarcoidosis will be better in dealing with things than the other so called doctor was. I did tell on him for not being all that nice and this new doctor nodded his head almost like he had heard it all before. I almost forgot how he kept asking if I had ever gone out west. I live in Michigan and I told him that I have gone south and East, but never west. What does that have to do with anything?
I hope you are all able to have a nice peaceful night without too much pain.
Nikki
