TOP DR. 2009 / H1N1 vaccine

0 Recommendations

Hi all,
I just found out at my visit to National Jewish that my pulmnologist, made it in the magazine 5280 as TOP Dr. of the year 2009 list! I feel so blessed to be in such capable hands. My report from yesterday's visit was good. My lung function is really good and I know that others are not so fortunate.
I did have a discussion about the H1N1 virus shot---to get it or not to get it---her unanimous decision was DEFINETELY GET IT you are immune suppressed. I will have to wait in line once the vaccine is available and an example she gave me was if you were in line today and I had the vaccine and there was another sarc patient in line with diminished lung capacity(scarring) I would give it to the patient with the scarring first before I gave it to you...so just a heads up about that for you that have asked. Of course, you all do what you think best for yourselves. Me, I am going to stand in the line with the clinic or wherever the shot is available which may not be til mid Nov.
I am just so excited to be assigned a Doctor who knows her stuff as we journey on the sarcoid ride of life.
Blessings on your week,
Glowgirl

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
