Not sure what to do with myself!

Hi all, I'm very new to this kind of thing so you'll have to bear with me.
My health has not been quite right for around six years, I had a variety of symptoms on and off including mild chest pain, palpitations, general discomfort and numbness down the upper left side of my body, general aches and pains and rather bizarrely different colored hands ( my left one goes red ) to name but a few. After many trips to the doctors I began to feel like a complete hypercondriac, it was suggested that i was suffering panic attacks, had a delayed post-natal depression, needed to loose a bit of weigh etc.
I lived with the funny symptoms an convinced myself that I was either imagining them or that what i was experiencing was normal.
Around five weeks ago i developed red swellings on my legs and my joints became noticeably more painful, after a few day i was struggling to walk. I went to see my GP who very quickly ran blood test and sent me for a chest x-ray. Sarcoid was diagnosed within 3 days.
I had to wait 3 long and painful weeks to see a specialist who put me on pred. A miracle cure for the legs and joints (I can walk again), but feeling some side affects and still with other symptoms from before.
It just all feels so unknown, I don't know what to do to help myself. The doctors seem so resigned to not knowing anything about it and other than the pred. and a promise of various further test can offer very little constructive help.
I was so relieved to find this site and see that there are others out there. I think maybe this will be somewhere for me to lean and give my husband a break sometimes! Hopefully I can be of support for all you as well.
