Disability anyone???

I was curious as to how many of us are on disability....I applied & was denied. I will be going through the appeal process shortly! I was just wondering if any of you are on disability & what it took to actually get it!

My previous employment (before quitting in 2006 because I was too sick to work) was medical billing, transcription, and general office work for a Neurosurgeon. This is rather light-duty type of work (sitting for most of the day & usually no heavy lifting)! I was told on my disability denial that I could not go back to my previous employment type of work, but rather do something lighter....what could be more light than sitting at a desk typing all day??? I don't get it! Anyhow...as I said I will be going through the appeal process with an attorney after seeing my family doc to get some of the symptoms I have worked out...or at least try to!

I would be interested in hearing from you if you are on disability & what it took to actually get approved!

It seems I have more & more symptoms as the days, weeks, months, and years pass on....they are usually subtle at first & takes a while for me to actually admit that I have a problem....being in the medical field (I am actually a Medical Assistant) I think I am not a very good patient...I try to hide things & fake feeling well when really I'm a stinking mess! I have fatigue, depression, anxiety, neuropathy, blank areas in my vision, coughing (of course), and many other symptoms that I try to hide (I'm not sure why)??? I guess it is hard for us to admit that there really is something wrong with us! I am going to call my doc tomorrow & get an appointment for a general physical & talk with him!

Wish me Luck!
God Bless
Anne
