Hello
I was first diagnosed with sarc now some 9 yrs ago...been just pushing through the symptoms for yrs now with bottles of anti-inflamitorys...rounds of predisone...but as of the loss of my job of 30 yrs and with that my insurance my symptoms have been raging...havent been able to afford the never ending series of doc appointments that seem to go no where....so stopped all together.. but now between a rock and hard place. and I dont know if these symptoms are sarc related or something else all together....fatigue has been overwelming and non stop...eyes have been burning, blurred vision that comes and goes... continual ringing in ears? numbness in arms and hands.swelling in hands...lower back pain, joint pain, memory loss. dizziness... been checking blood pressure and its all over the place from very high to very low..x-rays show very large lymph nobes in lungs near heart...lung biopsy's were unable to find granulomas..however diagnosed with sarc as diagnosis of elimination of other conditions..still treating depression...do these symptoms sound like sarc? what can I do? should I be considering seeking disability?currently no way I could hold a job... is it for people with sarc? If you can Help Thanks!!

Sorry what your going through.I'm not a doc but it sounds alot like Sarc. The fatigue, lymph nodes the eyesight changes. If you can afford it....I would get to an eye doctor to check that out. The first thing my pulmonary guy said to me was,"i'm concerned about your eyes...so I keep on top of it. A lot of people with Sarc have Iritis in BOTH eyes and tells the doc that something else is going on in your body. Seriously, don't take your changes in vision lightly. Good luck my man.

See an opthalmologist promptly to prevent Sarc blindness - mine happened overnight!

Sounds like you need to be on long term Pred. A punch, then taper to a maintanance dose until your blood work shows the Sarc has become inactive. Let Rheumatologist know your financial situation and have only the most telling blood work done to monitor your condition.

I would also hire a SSD attorney to start the application process and get all the wording correct before too much more undocumented medical stuff happens. He gets paid out of your retro check once you finally get approved, but it can take a couple of denials over a couple of yrs. At that, mine was never approved, but others have been more fortunate.

Hope you've kept good files on you testing and imaging summaries. The more you have the faster the attorney can submit for you.

Good luck,
I.

Sounds like Sarc to me. Some call it a flare and some call it the norm. Get you eyes checked if you can.
I hired Allsup and won my SSDB after about a year. I know two others that got it quick. You can find good lawyers also. Allsup did everything for me.
As far as dizziness, ringing in ears, fatigue...have had that for 2 years.
Good luck to you.

Help and information from FSR

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
