Ulcers

0 Recommendations

Have been in pain and sick to my stomach for a couple of weeks now.
after ER visit and GI scope.
I now have five ulcers from the pain meds given to me
for the arthrictic sarcoidosis.
Any alternative suggestions for the pain?

Pain Nexium Lortab Sarcoidosis

I wish I could be a help but I know when they had me on the methotrxate I developed three ulcers in my mouth (gums)....still haven't had anything done about it.

I am not sure if you are on steroids also or just the pain meds. I take both steroids and pain meds (Lortab) and I also take mtx. I was also given nexium to take every day and sometimes twice a day to help with the steroids. I have been on the nexium since I started the steroids almost two years ago. I am not sure what pain med you are on but maybe if you take it with food instead of an empty stomach that may help reduce the damage it does to the stomach and throat. I have never had a problem with my pain meds it has always been the steroids. I wish you the best of luck. I also know if you are taking some meds you can't take like advil/motrin etc because it will eat a hole in your stomach.

Help and information from FSR

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
