My family and friends had a yard sale Oct. 17. We raised 1200.00 for FRS. I designed these Tee-shirt. that is my profile picture. They are not crooked my daughter took the picture crooked. I have a seven year old neice that wanted one of course. She really wanted one and the adult small just swallowed her whole. The next Friday was show and tell at her school, she carried the shirt and told them about sarcoidosis. It really touched me that a seven year old would do that.

That's really very sweet. You're inspiring her to teach others about this disease! Congratulations on the money raised for research, that's great. Take care, and blessings to you and your family.

Congrats on such a successful yard sale! After being diagnosed with sarc several months ago I still feel like a newbie, and I rely on FSR and this site SO much. I realize that fundraisers like yours are what help make the information I'm seeking available to me, so...thanks! I hope to be able to do something similar in the future and "pay it forward", as they say.

Your niece sounds like a sweetie, too.

I would love to put something together here in Reno and have no idea how to start. There is so much out there for other cancers, and diabetes etc. We need to get together as a group and do some sort of luncheon, fundraiser for sarcoid reasearch. I anyone is interested or has any ideas, let me know.

That is so great to hear. Thanks for the fundraising and many thanks to your sweet neice

My daughter did a research paper on Sarcoidosis for her biology class. Many of her friends knew I was feeling poorly but didn't know what was wrong with me. Even her teacher(which was one of my teachers from years passed) was surprised. I think it even gave her a better understanding of what we face daily and what we have to deal with. What your daughter did was amazing too.(especially at 7) Kids are great and they figure things out a lot faster than some adults! My Jaimie can tell when I have been doing to much and really lays down the law. Her motto for me is just say no! I volunteer too much..
Take care,

Help and information from FSR

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
