There are many reasons for a mature man to have issues with his prostate. It is good news that the doctors cannot find cancer cells after 5 biopsies, the prostate is a tricky area to sample. He may just have BHP, Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, a common part of aging in most men. His physical condition can also play a part in weird prostate-like symptoms. Obesity can be a contributor to symptoms.

I will, however, add that on occasion, I have felt an uncommon urge to "go" with frequency...even on 'empty'... not a UTI or prostate issues... but that same, here today gone tomorrow Sarc like mystery that we are all familiar with. I have also heard of women also getting this mysterious urge to go even though voided.

Perhaps an inflamed abdominal lymph node pressing against the bladder.

Good luck to Uncle.

Not prostrate-related (directly) but certainly in the same area, ultra-sound scans found that I had enlarged lymph nodes and pockets of calcium build-up that the urologist indicated were definitely sarcoid-related, given my history of Sarcoidosis. His explanation of the pain was the various inflamed lymph nodes pressing on the bladder, the urethra, etc., even the colon, causing further inflammation and subsequent partial blockages, which becomes a viscous circle until the inflamed nodes subside. The cycle seems to last about 3 weeks. Not sure exactly what triggers it, but excessive walking and lifting are factors, as is sitting for prolonged periods on hard surfaces (i.e. those stupid chairs at meetings).

My husband was recently treated for prostate cancer. As far as we know it was unrelated to his sarcoidosis but you never know.

Research has shown that here is NO link between Sarcoidosis and any form of cancer. They are not the same thing.

Hi I was also diagnosed with prostate cancer. What treatment did your huband have?
