Right rib pain

0 Recommendations

Hi, Iam 26 year old female, I am having pain on my right side. I was diagnosed a week ago with a Chronic Kidney infection. The doctors told me it would take some time to recover from this. I have been taking it easy and laying on down. A couple days ago i was laying on my right side and it felt like i was laying on something hard. The pain is where my last rib is and under to my pelvis. I'm not sure if i have a mass or a tumor. I'm freaking out. I surely dont want anything to be wrong that is terminal. For months now i have been having pain in my joints and in my legs. My feet, after sitting for a period of time feel like they will break when i stand on them. Could all of these symptoms be because of a kidney infection or could i have a possible malignant mass. Please help any response will help me. Not sure what to do and im going to the doctor on monday.

Purple,

It is certainly hard to say what all your symptoms are from, but a kidney infection usually causes pain around the back/side just near the last ribs. Certainly this pain could also appear in the pelvis as most kidney infections occur with bladder inflammation as well.
I can't really say much about how the joint pain ties in or doesn't, but I can try to reassure you that most malignant masses don't cause any of the symptoms you describe early on. Most malignant masses are so dangerous because they cause very little or no symptoms until they have spread quite a bit, and by that time there are usually many other symptoms including dramatic weight loss, loss of appetite, fatigue, etc.
For not I would suggest that you try to relax, plan on seeing your doc on Monday and just enjoy as much of the weekend as you can.
