I dispise prednizone and it does not do anything for me but make me fatter.
I also hate pain meds and only take em if it is a must.
Nerotin, muscle relaxer
Valium, to deal with more doctors
Organic Ibupren, muscle aches
All natural muscle rub, muscle aches
Keppra, for migraines
Sorry I can't help you much more right now. Not my best at the moment.

Ahhhh Meds. I have a list for you LOL LOL! I'll start with sarc meds:

Sarc Meds:
*Prednisone
*Imuran

GI Meds
*Questran
*Prevacid

Bipolar Meds
*Topamax
*Lexapro
*Trazadone

Just in Case Meds
*Valium

MY FAVORITE MED:
Neurontin
"Generic Name: gabapentin (GA ba PEN tin)
Neurontin is an anti-epileptic medication, also called an anticonvulsant. It affects chemicals and nerves in the body that are involved in the cause of seizures and some types of pain."

This drug (and Lyrica which does the same) is used to block or prevent nerve pain. Without Neurontin I would have given up.

I AM ALSO ON:
Cellcept
"CellCept lowers your body's immune system. The immune system helps your body fight infections. The immune system can also fight or "reject" a transplanted organ such as a liver or kidney. This is because the immune system treats the new organ as an invader."

Cellcept hopefully is keeping my sarc in remission.

I take other meds, but these two are the ones I think are most important.

Examples of other meds would be Imuran, placquenil, mtx, prednisone, cellcept, humira and remicade infusions-in no particular order!!

I did them all except cellcept and find the remicade infusions work best for me.

I agree about the gabapentin or in my case lycria, it helps me a lot as well with pain. Its not a "regular" type pain pill that you take just when needed, you take it everyday and it builds up in your system.

Thank you all for your responses. This kind of stuff helps me out a lot. Its easier to learn from someone else than trying to play and understand most drs.

I take an aspirin a day for pain/inflammation. Sometimes though I have to take the max for body aches, etc. I hope you feel better soon. Pray for me and i'll pray for you.

I find tylenol based products to be better at helping my pain. Just do not take them if you have problems with your liver as they are filtered through the liver and never take more than the daily recommended dose.

I start the day with two extra strength Tylenol, than either two more Tylenol or 2 vicodin if the tylenol isn't cutting it mid afternoon and 2 more tylenol at bedtime.

Hi I am also on methotraxate and I found out the hard way you really really have to watch what you take when you are on that medicine! I was on ammoxicillian for a sinsus infection and it ended up making my blood levels real high where I was geting really sick and mouth sores. It was horriable! Make sure whatever you take that you check with your pharmacist first even over the counter drugs certain ones dont mix with methotrexate. for instance you can only take tylenol for a pain reliever not asprin or aleve. be careful with what you put in your body with this medication.

I figured that i could not take my EXCEDRIN back and body. These little guys helped me get though all the test before my diagnoses. I do miss them very much. Right now my pain is not to unbearable. Mainly after work or if i sit for 10 minutes. thank you and take care.
